However, the PC does not recognize the zip driver at all. I saw some community message suggesting an old Windows version might work with Zip drive. I got out an old Toshiba running Windows XP and conned the driver to it, same thing. The PC actually acknowledges the plug in of a Printer probably the parallel cable.

If you have by chance the external Zip drive blue box then use a cable parallel to serie big long connector to small blue multypin connector the kind used for VGA monitors if you have an old mother board, you may have a parallel connector at the back of your PC. You have a machine running Windows 10 with a parallel port? I just used a used an adapter cable from parallel to USB. My problem is a software driver that will work to recognize the drive.

The zip drive worked fine with my old computer. If it can’t be done I will chuck the drive. I have a lot of disks with pictures I would like to retrieve. In reply to TXZ’s post on January 12, To follow up.

Many websites let you download driver support software. In fact I installed one on my old pc running on XP and it says my drivers are updated. How do I make the PC recognize it as a storage device?
