After the source file is updated, your Inventor based features will be preserved. The Presentation environment in Inventor now allows for support of surface data.

Your surface files can be included in:. You can also create a new Presentation file directly from the browser of an open assembly. For details, see: Presentation Enhancements. Inventor continues to focus on customer Inventor Ideas requests, feedback and giving you a delightful experience inside of Inventor. Customer-driven enhancements throughout Inventor improve core workflows and model interaction.

Commands like Chamfer, Assembly Interference Analysis, Extrude and Hole have added options based on your direct feedback. In addition, both the Browser and Measure have been refreshed to deliver a more feature rich experience for all Inventor users.

The Inventor measure tools and workflows have been greatly simplified and improved to enhance productivity. You can now:.

The Parameter dialog box is enhanced to include a Consumed by column and By Features filter. For details see, Productivity and Performance Enhancements. Professional-Grade Design Engineers constantly need to drive innovation in their design work for better products and more efficient processes.

Tip: The Sheet Metal 3 v2 guided tutorial includes the new unique thickness workflow. After selecting an assembly document to place in a drawing, if the preview can display in under 3 seconds it will do so. If it takes longer a Preview progress dialog box displays. The dialog box is the only element you can interact with during its display.

From the Open dialog box you can: Defer drawings Turn off model preview. From the Drawing View dialog box you can: Recover mesh bodies, surface bodies, and all model dimensions. Expanded Interoperability Inventor delivers new capabilities for mechanical engineers who work with a variety of design data. Mesh Support for displaying and documenting mesh objects is added to drawing views. For details, see Drawing support for Mesh Objects Shrinkwrap and Shrinkwrap Substitutes Shrinkwrap tools have been enhanced for more control, improved user interface, and an improved workflow.

Select multiple DWG Files when creating more than one underlay. Automatically project certain types of DWG geometry when you enable the new Application Options Sketch Autoproject edges during curve creation option. Create a joint on the same plane as the sketch in the same way a joint is created between 2D Inventor geometry: If the selected DWG Underlay geometry is within the XY, YZ, or XZ plane, the resulting joint is created on the same plane as the sketch.

Legacy Inventor Inventor The Inventor Experience Inventor continues to focus on customer Inventor Ideas requests, feedback and giving you a delightful experience inside of Inventor. Vault enhances batch plot to enable you to specify plot size, orientation, color, and scale on PDF and TIF files. In addition, batch plot now supports the placing of watermarks and stamps on PDF files during the plot operation. Vault restores action rules mapping to filenames, allows action rules to be used across different vaults assuming the property definitions exist , lets designers set target file properties to like properties of previous file revisions, preserves Inventor iLogic rules on copied data, and improves the copy operations of files with linked drawings.

Vault introduces new Administrator roles that allow team members to manage aspects of Vault such as configuration or security settings without being a full administrator. The Vault Add-in for Inventor enables you to detach, float, and reattach the Vault browser to new screen positions to optimize menu layout. With separate Inventor and Vault browsers, you can view both component trees simultaneously within the same Inventor design session.

The Vault Add-in for Inventor provides a new Vault browser search, including multiple keyword search, to help users identify and select components within the Vault component tree. After adding new properties to the browser display, you may also search for components by property and locate items more easily within the component structure of large assemblies.

After selecting a target component, you can select Go to Vault Folder. This opens a fresh Vault Explorer session showing the version and revision of the selected component inside its stored project location.

For more information, see Go to Vault Folder. Load Full loads all component data and all commands are available. Load Express provides significantly faster x file open times for large assemblies, but some commands are not available.

A new Application Version property for Inventor files shows the last time the file was saved and the version of Inventor it was saved in.

For the past few years the most “useful” features for me weren’t in the whats new documents at all and I or others stumbled upon them and were happy.. Thank you for this feedback.

The Content Experience team is currently not aware of any features that were not documented in the What’s New. We apologize for overlooking the feature, ability to ‘reorder design view representations’ in a previous release. We really appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Could you provide some examples of other features we overlooked documenting in the Whats New? As I become aware of any new features that were not documented, I will be sure to update this post, and endeavor to take other actions to make sure this info is communicated to customers.

Again, I apologize for our oversight of features you discovered by stumbling on. I will really appreciate some examples of features we overlooked. You can see it here at the end of my review.. Unless you have already reviewed this document because I know you always pay attention to what I have to say Mark Lancaster. Did this resolve your issue? Please accept it “As a Solution” so others may benefit from it. Yes, you are right! I do pay attention to everything you bring to my attention, and I really do appreciate it when you do.

That statement was for mcgyvr.. We poke each other when we get a chance Today I think it was my turn to do the poking Jeanie, Off the top of my head thats the only one I remember just because it was last year and I’m lucky to remember if I put pants on this morning.. I believe Curtis has mentioned that in there were changes to ilogic configuration setup in that weren’t mentioned and caused him some “fun”..

I’m glad that you also included stuff you have removed too.. Thats always been an annoyance to stumble upon that kind of stuff.. Looks like a good job was done this year on the whats new Oh and its ok to ignore Mark like all the rest of us do.

Basically this issue is did not document the change made that required an ilogic Folder path in order to create a new iLogic rule, so users could not open and create external rules, until they first set that path.

But there was nothing that told them to do so. I hope this helps. I notice something on your blog Using your image, I noted what I’m talking about. You can skip the extra click to get these options by using the drop down on the open dialog box. I may have to suggest that you look again and I never modified the document today or after you replied..

There are already there Here’s the assembly info and it was called out in the image above the image you used. Along with the wording in both as “A toggle to open in Full or Express mode provided without the need to access File Open Options.

I’ve read the What’s New on this, and we just opened and did the basic tire kicking concerning this, but I didn’t see backward compatibility in that you could use a file in with the AnyCAD workflow. For example, you can now reference an Inventor part file in Inventor When attempting to open a file we received a message saying our version was not up to date, I think it said we had Curtis now I will help you..

This is only possible if the Inventor model has been saved with the R4 version of Inventor But I don’t think R4 has been released and technically we are not allowed to discuss the R4 stuff.. Oops I just did.. Mark is spot on. R4, which allows you to open files in R is just a short time away.

Lancaster , Thanks! Guess I should have read that part of your blog closer. Thank you for asking about this Curtis, and thank you Mark for providing additional details.

I hope you will let me know if I have excluded anything else important. I’m jealous I’m waiting for the day both of those teams get “in sync” and have matching release date requirements..

Autodesk intends to develop Electromechanical communication with Autocad Electrical? When can we expect to Refine this feature in the AIP? It is at all possible to expect? Strange to see that the only program for Electromechanical design Autodesk – ACE paid so little attention. In fact there is no appeal of this software in the design of electrical equipment in comparison with competitors.
