Since upgrading to I’ve had issues with Office Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote where they will start and then crash need repair. With each after I start with or without an existing file this happens several times and then seems fine until I reboot again. I’ve done the quick repair and have done complete uninstalls using the clean uninstall tool and reinstalled all without changing these symptoms.

Note : Ensure to restart the computer in normal mode after troubleshooting is completed. Above article also applicable to Windows Clean boot is performed to disable all start up programs and 3rd party services on the machine and check if they are conflicting with the Office program.

This issue could be due to any add-in, l et’s try starting the Office applications in safe mode as mentioned in the article below and verify the result. Hope it helps. Starting excel by right-clicking the taskbar icon and selecting “Excel ” allowed it to start and then I ignored the recovery file and it started and I tried the next add-in.

Clicking on a desktop icon for one of my workbooks always fails. Clicking on the taskbar icon itself fails most of the time. If issue still persist l et’s disable compatibility mode for Office and verify the result.
